LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation of Tsuneji Ōyama at age 110. He is known as the oldest man ever in Saga Prefecture as well as the first supercentenarian from the area.
Tsuneji Ōyama was born on 9 January 1913 in Kiyama, Saga Prefecture, Japan.
At age 30, Ōyama left his two young daughters and wife when he was drafted and dispatched to China in 1943. Just before the war ends, he came back to Japan after being ordered to safeguard the mainland. Unfortunately, he was afflicted with a kidney disease that caused widespread body swelling.

In his 70s, he also battled heart and prostate complications but later made a complete recovery from it. He transferred to an aged care institution with rehabilitation facilities in December 2019. Until he was 100 years old, he can still drive cars and light trucks for his work in the fields. Moreover, until March 2023, he was still able to walk by using a walker.
Tsuneji Ōyama currently resides in Kiyama, Saga Prefecture, Japan. On 23 July 2019, he was recognized as the oldest living man in the prefecture when Tetsuo Shiki passed away. Three years later, he was able to surpass Shiki’s final age to make him the oldest man ever in Saga Prefecture.
