LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Juanita Mitchell at 111 years old. She is an American supercentenarian considered as one of the oldest living residents of Illinois, USA.

Juanita Mitchell was born on 15 December 1911, in Louisiana, to her parents named William Carrere and Cinderella Cannon. When she was 7 years old, she moved with her mother and younger sister to Chicago, Illinois. They were staying with her aunt and uncle, Beulah and Cecil White, in a house near the corner of 35th Street and Giles Avenue. This was when the family witnessed the Red Summer unfold in the city in 1919.

Juanita Mitchell was a graduate of Hyde Park High School then worked as a seamstress. She also worked as a schoolteacher just before getting married. After marriage, she had a daughter and a son.

She lived most of her life in Chicago until she moved to Flossmoor, Illinois, in 1996.

LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation of Miki Imamura at 111 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian born on 4 March 1904, in Minamata, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

She graduated from Oe Girls’ High School which is now named as Kumamoto Face Gakuin High School.

Miki met her future husband, Daiki Imamura, at a Protestant church in Minamata. They later got married when she was 20 years old.

After the wedding, the couple started to sell daily necessities by managing a haberdashery. When Miki was 29 years old, the couple founded a Japanese confectionary shop. This is due to her husband wanting her to showcase her culinary talents. She trained under Japanese confectioner and researched on making red bean paste. Later on, she was able to commercialize her product named “Yōkan” which quickly became a popular confectionery in the area.

In the 1970s, she developed a new product with the help of her second son. She included her first name in the product’s name and called it “Miki Monaka.”

Miki Imamura passed away on 6 November 2015, in Minamata, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. She was 111 years old at the time of her death.

LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation of Mary Niceswanger at 111 years old. She was born on 6 August 1906, in Penn Township, Morgan County, Ohio, USA.

Niceswanger was born to Frederick Simpson McInturf (1880-1957) and Carrie Esther Moody (1884-1969) and she grew up with her 11 siblings.

The family was living on a farm where her father raised cattle, chickens, pigs, and sheep. Mary even had a pet pig named Faye. Mary and her family always celebrated her birthday on 2 August, but they later found out that her birth certificate states that her birthday was originally 6 August.

On 26 November 1933, she married Leonard Niceswanger whom she had one daughter with.

Her husband died on 20 November 1971 while her daughter passed away in 2010.

Mary Niceswanger passed away on 25 January 2018, in Marietta, Ohio, USA. She was survived by her son-in-law, two grandsons, two great-granddaughters, and a step-great-grandson.

LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation of Etta Louise Burkhalter at 110 years old. She is an American supercentenarian who is one of the oldest living persons in Michigan, USA.

Etta Louise Jones was born on 13 November 1912, in Hillsborough County, Florida, to parents John and Sarah Jones. When Etta Louise was only 13 years old, she witnessed her mother died due to tuberculosis when Sarah was 43 years old.

Etta Louise married Carl Burkhalter on 16 December 1929. The couple later moved from Tampa to Harrison, Michigan amidst the Great Depression. They built a house on a farm in this place where they raised their three daughters.

Mr. Burkhalter passed away in 1992 after 62 years of being married to Etta Louise.

Etta Louise Burkhalter is currently residing at Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA where she is reported to be still very lucid.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Masako Soga at 110 years old. She is currently the oldest living Japanese supercentenarian in Okayama Prefecture.

Masako Soga was born on 23 February 1913, in Kannabe (which is now part of Fukuyama City), Hiroshima Prefecture. Being born as the seventh of eight children, her older brother and sister raised her by feeding her amazake instead of breast milk.

She later moved to Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture after marrying a film engineer. Her husband passed away in the early 1980s.

Mrs. Soga was still able to sew until she was 95 years old. She was also still able to enjoy eating her candy rice crackers as she still had 20 of her own teeth.

In April 2023, she was still able to walk despite having a broken femur that she got when she was 102 years old.

Masako Soga is currently residing in Okayama Prefecture where she is the current oldest living person at 110 years old.

Daniel Germán Delgado, en representación de LongeviQuest-España, visitó al Sr. Jesús Redondo Bermejo en la víspera de su 108 cumpleaños, el 2 de junio de 2023. Germán Delgado estuvo presente en su residencia de ancianos “El Cuartillo” en la provincia de Cáceres, comunidad autónoma de Extremadura.

Redondo Bermejo nació el 2 de junio de 1915 en Cañaveral, Cáceres, Extremadura, España.

Según la familia del señor Redondo Bermejo, él está muy bien de salud, su memoria está “perfecta” y podía hablar con mucha naturalidad, él estaba muy consciente y activo mentalmente. Además, es muy adelantado a su tiempo, y su escucha era muy buena y podía leer y ver la televisión sin necesidad de lentes. A sus 108 años, Jesús solo toma dos pastillas, y dedicó su vida a los números. Se convirtió en contable de su ayuntamiento a los 19 años y allí trabajo hasta su jubilación, en 1976.

Con su bastón se paseaba todos los días a por su periódico; vive tranquilo, sin prisas y disfrutando de la vida. Un hombre trabajador y honesto, que sigue muy bien en sus facultades.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Kameo Ōya at 111 years old. He was a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person and the oldest man ever in Ōita Prefecture at the time of his death.

Kameo Ōya was born on 12 February 1907, in the village of Ueno, Ōita Prefecture, Japan. He spent most of his life in the field of agriculture, particularly in cultivating rice and shiitake mushrooms.

Mr. Ōya entered an assisted living facility for the elderly in 2004. He was able to ride his bicycle back and forth between his home and the rice field until he was 105 years old. At 108 years old, he could still read without glasses and walk without requiring assistance.

He enjoyed reading agricultural and food books and at the age of 110, he even dreamed of starting a farm life by planting vegetables and herbs.

Kameo Ōya passed away on 17 June 2018, in Saiki, Ōita Prefecture, Japan. At the time of his death, he still holds the record of being the Prefecture’s oldest man ever.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of a Portuguese-born Brazilian anonymous lady supercentenarian at the age of 111 years. She was born in Portugal on 23 October 1911. Her age has been validated in cooperation between LongeviQuest and the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).

At some point in her life, she got married and had children. The family eventually moved to Brazil and still currently lives there.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Millie Berry of the United States at the age of 110 years. She was born in New York City, New York, United States on 25 May 1909 and passed away in New York City on 22 April 2020. She was the third of nine children.

In 1928, she married Leroy Edward Berry. They had three daughters. Mrs. Berry worked in a factory on Park Avenue, making artillery belts, and later as a lab tech in the microbiology department at New York Presbyterian Hospital for 30 years until she retired in her 60s.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Chie Ogata of Japan at age 111 years. She was born in Minamata, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan on 15 October 1911.

Ogata got married at some point and eventually had 10 children. Her husband, Zenkichi, was a carpenter. She ran a farm while serving meals to her husband’s apprentices. According to her fourth daughter, she had lived a healthy life with little reliance on medicines.

She passed away in Minamata on 3 July 2020. At the time of death, she was the oldest living person in Kumamoto Prefecture.
