Cecina, Tuscany, Italy — LongeviQuest is deeply saddened to report the passing of Mr. Tripolino Giannini, Italy’s oldest living man, who departed on 31 December 2023.
Mr. Giannini was born on 20 August 1912, making him 111 years and 133 days old at the time of his passing this morning. In addition to holding the title of the country’s oldest living man, he also held the title of the second-oldest living man in Europe. Mr. Giannini managed a fruit and vegetable shop and served as a Bersaglieri.
His passing was announced by his son Romano Giannini, and was initially reported by Il Tirreno, a regional Italian newspaper from Tuscany. LongeviQuest extends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Giannini during this difficult time.

At a young age, she was married to James Chancy Carpenter and the couple had three children together. The family moved to Quaker City in 1940 where she worked at the local cigar factory and the Quaker City Post Office.
Her husband passed away at age 42 and so she was remaried to Clyde Herbert Gibson.

Freida was born on 15 May 1913 in the United States. At some point in her life, she had three daughters.
When she was 106 years old, she resided at Premier Cadbury of Cherry Hill retirement community. The elderly home also prepared a birthday celebration for her 106th birthday. They also honored five other centenarians living in the retirement community.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Fumi Fujihara at 110 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian known as the oldest living person in Shimane Prefecture at the time of her death.
Fumi was born on 7 September 1910 in Japan. She got married at 20 years old and became a mother at some point.
She enjoyed composing tanka which is a Japanese short poetry. In 2011, she hosted a weekly tanka class at age 101. Fumi also attended a monthly local tanka event organized by the Ishikawa Tanka Society. She eventually became the leader of this society for her extensive experience and skills on the subject.
Before reaching 108 years old, she moved into a nursing home in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It was reported that she has a healthy appetite even at the age of 110 while staying at the elderly home.
Fumi passed away on 21 June 2021 at the same elderly home in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Haruko Mekaru at 112 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian born on 5 July 1910 in Nanjō City, Okinawa Prefecture.
At some point in her life, she got married to a skilled master carpenter. Her family witnessed a fierce war during the Pacific War where their place of residence became a battlefield. Fortunately, they are living way off the road, so they sustained minimal damage from the conflict.
She moved into a nursing home where she celebrated her 111th and 112th birthdays while wearing her kimono. Haruko enjoyed sata andagi which is an Okinawan sweet, deep-fried bun similar to a doughnut.
Mrs. Mekaru passed away on 21 November 2022 at her nursing home in Nanjō City, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Bernard Nenner at 110 years old. He was an American supercentenarian known as the oldest living man in Florida at the time of his death.
Bernard was born on 4 May 1907 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA.
At the age of 15, Bernard started working as a delivery boy for A&P in New York. Five years later, he quickly climbed the ranks and became a manager at age 20.
On 4 March 1928, Bernard married the 18-year-old Sophie and the two of them had a daughter and a son.
He had a dry-cleaning business with 15 stores on the South Shore of Long Island but eventually sold it. Next, Bernard ventured into mobile home parks in Florida. He even experienced being trapped mid-air in one of the trailer offices with two other people inside due to a tornado in 1965. He also sold his mobile home park business in 1974 and then retired at the age of 67.
At the age of 110, he managed a library at the Aston Gardens at Parkland Commons Senior Community where he currently lived at that time.
Bernard passed away on 13 November 2017 in Parkland, Florida, USA.

Mary Ransopher turns 111 on Christmas Day 2023. She was born in an apple orchard in Russiaville, Howard City, Indiana, USA.
Clinton County Daily News managed to have an interview with Mary just before her 111th birthday. The conversations shared by both parties tackled the treasured memories of Mary throughout her life.
Although she has no memory of it, the Titanic sank in the Atlantic Ocean in the year she was born. Also, It was the same year when Girl Scouts were started by Juliette Gorden Low. Moreover, they also talked about her memories of church, chores, electricity, horses, radios, and television sets.
She married J. Marland “Marlin” Ransopher at the New London Friends Church on 28 August 1935, . The couple proceeded to have four children together.
Mary currently lives at Wesley Manor in Frankfort, Clinton County, Indiana, USA.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Elsie Davis at 110 years old. She was an American supercentenarian known as the oldest living person in Connecticut at the time of her death.
Elsie was born on 23 May 1907 in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. After her mother passed away, she went and stayed with her aunt in Philadelphia. Elsie travelled back and forth between Philadelphia and Virginia until her younger brother sent for her at age 17. She then relocated to Middletown, Connecticut, with her brother.
Upon her relocation, she worked as a babysitter for the Byerly family, attendant at Snow White Laundry, and nurse aide at Middlesex Hospital. While working as a nurse’s aide, Elsie was known for designing the hospital’s first nurse’s cap.
In 1934, she married John “Buck” Davis and the couple had five children together. The two of them also served as foster parents to 25 foster children for more than 20 years.
At the age of 110, Elsie was still a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Middletown, Connecticut.
Elsie Davis passed away on 18 November 2017 at the Apple Rehab Middletown Nursing Home in Middletown, Connecticut.
At the time of her death, she was considered as the oldest known living person in Connecticut, USA, before Florence Carroll succeeded this feat.
