Mary Bagby was a validated American supercentenarian who died in 2001 at the age of 111. At the time of her death in 2001, she was among the oldest living residents of the US state of California.

Mary Bagby was born in Castor, Bienville Parish, Louisiana, USA on 20 July 1890 to parents. Her childhood involved horse-drawn buggy rides to school. Bagby’s family relocated to Oklahoma in 1918 and later settled in California in 1936.

As a devout Christian, she was a founding member of a nearby church and remained dedicated to daily prayer and Bible study throughout her life. Known for her love of Snickers bars, she anticipated her caretaker’s grocery trips with delight.
