LongeviQuest is delighted to announce that Serbia’s oldest person turned 109 years old.
Milka Bauković Radivojevic was born as Milka Ercegovac in Papici, Sunja, Sisak-Moslavina County, Austria-Hungary (present-day Croatia) on 5 February 1915. She was a sister, a wife, and a mother to 2 children.
Bauković continued to practice the same trade (hat production in Okucani, Brod-Posavina County, Croatia) as her late first husband until her retirement in the 80’s.
On 3 April 2022, at the age of 107, she went to vote herself and exercised her right to vote. Bauković never missed any elections, and she always went out to vote regularly. This made her the oldest living citizen of the Republic of Serbia to have ever voted.
On 6 July 2022, she became the oldest known living person in Belgrade and Serbia, following the death of 110-year-old Tamara Krutikov.
