LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Issaku Tomoe (Japanese: 巴一作) of Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

He was born in Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture, Japan on 15 August 1909 and passed away in Okazaki on 14 April 2020 at the age of 110. At his time of death, he was the oldest living man in Japan. Mr. Tomoe was the father of two daughters.
Mr. Tomoe became a physician in 1939 and wrote about “Pernicious Anemia in Japan.” He also became the director of the Municipal Okazaki Hospital in 1968 where he remained as an active physician well past his 90th birthday. He was reported to have been driving until he was 99 years of age.
In September 2018, he was reported to be the oldest living man in Aichi Prefecture at the age of 109. On 12 February 2020, he became the oldest living resident of Aichi Prefecture, at the age of 110 following the death of 112-year-old of Jo Makihara of Gamagori.
On 23 February 2020, he became the oldest living man in Japan following the death of 112-year-old Chitetsu Watanabe of Niigata Prefecture.
