LongeviQuest is delighted to share that Marguerite Pouponeau, Seychelles’ oldest citizen, turned 111 years old. She is celebrating a remarkable 111 years of life with a heartfelt gathering at her St. Louis home in Serret Road where they shared a special home mass.

Marguerite Pouponeau claims to have been born on 15 August 1912 in Anse Royale, Seychelles, as Margaret Woodfield Gill. She grew up in her birth town and then later moved to Saint Louis where she worked as a seamstress.

Marguerite married Wilby Pouponeau and had three daughters and a son. Her eldest daughter is now deceased while her other daughter, Daphne Pouponeau, lives with her in Saint Louis.

She became the oldest known living person in Seychelles after the claimed 112-year-old Nancy Marie passed away on 11 May 2021.

Mrs. Pouponeau’s age has not yet been validated by LongeviQuest or any other organization specializing in age verification.

LongeviQuest is saddened to report the passing of Martinique’s oldest living person, Philomene Fibleuil, at the claimed age of 110 years old. Her age is yet to be validated by LongeviQuest.
 
Mrs. Fibleuil was born in the French overseas department of Martinique, on 10 December 1912, where she was the oldest living person at the time of her death.
 
At some point she married a farmer with a surname Etienne, and the couple had eight children together. Her husband focused on his farming activities, while Philomene was in charge of selling the products to the market.

On 23 September 2021, she became the oldest known living woman in Martinique, following the death of 110-year-old Vincente Constance Newton.
On 5 October 2021, she became the oldest known living person in Martinique, following the death of 112-year-old Jules Theobald.
 
Mrs. Fibleuil passed away on 11 June 2023, at 110 years old, in Moise neighbourhood, Le Robert, Martinique, France.
