Chiyono Eguchi, the Oldest Person in Niigata, Japan, Dies at 111

Chiyono Eguchi, the oldest living person in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, passed away in Agano City on 6 April, at the age of 111 years, 329 days.

Chiyono Eguchi (Japanese: 江口チヨノ) was born on 12 May 1914.

On 3 September 2025, at the age of 111, she became the oldest living person in Niigata Prefecture, following the death of Toyo Kondo of Sanjo City.

Niigata Prefecture has reported that its new oldest living resident is Setsuko Sakata, a 110-year-old resident of Tōkamachi City.
