Zoraida Montezuma Ortega, the oldest living person in Costa Rica, has been officially validated by LongeviQuest on 27 April. At the age of 112 years, 178 days, she is also the second-oldest person ever from Costa Rica.
Montezuma was born in Limón, Limón Province, Costa Rica, on 31 October 1913 to parents Juan Montezuma Mora, a mechanic and blacksmith, who worked for many years for the Ministry of Public Works, and Luisa Ortega Mata, a housewife.
She never married nor had children. At the age of 108, she was still able to sing and dance.
She currently lives in a nursing home in San Rafael de Escazú, San José Province, Costa Rica.
