British supercentenarian Ethel Lang left a remarkable legacy behind in the form of her daughter, Margaret Bates, who is a talented artist.

Margaret Bates recently turned 100 years old on 29 November 2023, a feat that made her a centenarian following the steps of her supercentenarian mother. This made her the second generation of women from their family to reach the centenary milestone.

Holly House Residential Home in Milton Malsor threw a party for Margaret’s 100th birthday complete with cakes and decorations. Moreover, one amazing gift she received during her celebration is a card from the King.

For her birthday, Margaret’s daughter wrote the following statements:

“Margaret was born in Barnsley and lived in the town until July 2022, when she moved to Holly House Residential Home in Milton Malsor to be close to her adult family and great-grandchildren.”

“Margaret is a talented amateur artist. Her room, and the homes of family and friends display her paintings, pastel drawings and sculptures.”

“Margaret has received her card from the King. It compliments the ones her mother received from the late Queen Elizabeth. It is an unusual achievement for a mother and daughter to achieve the milestone of a hundredth birthday.”

Margaret’s artistry and the longevity she got from her mother are a testament to why she deserves celebration and recognition.

LongeviQuest sends our warmest greetings for Margaret Bates’ milestone of reaching the centenarian age mark.
