Paceco, Sicily, Italy — As confirmed by LaTr3.it, Mrs. Maria Novara celebrated her 111th birthday on May 4th.

Mrs. Novara was born in Paceco on 4 May 1913. At some point she got married and went on to have two children (Pia and Biagio). She worked in the countryside for several decades and was widowed in the late 1990s. Her son Biagio passed away in September 2022. Aside from her daughter, she also has two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

At the moment, she is the second-oldest living person on the island region of Sicily, after Francesca Fioriglio who is a year older. Yesterday, she was visited by the Mayor of Paceco, Aldo Grammatico, who presented her with a plaque that reads, “Proud of those who, in 111 years, have contributed to building our identity, our roots, our values, our history. Best wishes from the Mayor, City Council, and Municipal Council of Paceco.”

The LongeviQuest team would like to extend our congratulations. We hope she enjoyed her day, and we wish her many more years of happiness.
