BIOGRAPHY

Fioriglio was born in Sciacca, Sicily, Italy on 11 January 1912. She moved to Agrigento, Sicily when she married her husband, as he resided there.

When asked about the secret to her longevity, she attributed it to a healthy and calm lifestyle, free from excesses. She never smoked and has adhered to a diet consisting primarily of light meals, occasionally complemented by a glass of fine wine.

Upon the death of 111-year-old Giuseppa Comandè on 8 July 2022, Fioriglio became the oldest living person in Sicily. She celebrated her 111th birthday with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

RECOGNITION

The mayor of Sciacca, Fabio Termine, congratulated Fioriglio on her 111th birthday. Many Italian news outlets also reported on the occasion.

Her age was validated by the ESO on 1 February 2022.
