New Validation: Haruyo Matsunaga (1906-2017) of Japan

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Haruyo Matsunaga at 111 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian known as the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture at the time of her death. 

Haruyo Matsunaga was born on 6 March 1906 in Minamikushiyama (now part of Unzen), Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.  

At some point in her life, she became a mother and according to her grandchild, Haruyo loves going on holidays to visit her children.

In 2006, the mayor of Unzen City visited her 100th birthday to present her congratulatory gifts and a bouquet of flowers. 

Haruyo passed away on 12 March 2017 in Unzen City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.
