When she was 20 years old, she got married and had four daughters with her husband. Unfortunately, her spouse passed away when she was only 77 years old. That is why she lived independently for 27 years before moving into a nursing home when she was 104 years old.

Mrs. Tanaka passed away on 12 July 2011 in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
