Newly Validated Supercentenarian: Ei Nakano (1912-2022) of Japan

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Ei Nakano at 110 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian recognized as the oldest living person in Wakayama Prefecture at the time of her death.

Ei Nakano was born on 25 March 1912 in Kishigawa (now part of Kinokawa), Wakayama Prefecture, Japan.

She never got married nor had any children. In light of this, she ran a tobacco and general retail store until she was 80 years old.

Nakano also pursued her passion of composing songs that show the emotions of joy, gratitude, and the everyday moments of her life. She started this lifelong hobby when she was in her youth. In July 2021, Nakano published a 48-paged songbook she titled “Nameless Flowers” through the publishing company of her nephew.

Ei Nakano passed away on 9 June 2022 in Kinokawa, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. She was 110 years and 76 days old at the time of her death.
