Aileen Kars was born in Manawatu, Manawatu-Whanganui, New Zealand on 12 September 1913. Kars lived independently until she was 99 years old when she moved into a retirement home. She attributes her longevity to drinking plenty of water and staying positive. She was described as having a sharp mind, keen senses, and as very accepting of everyone.

On 29 July 2022, Kars became the oldest known living person in New Zealand, following the death of 110-year-old Joan Brennan.

LongeviQuest sends our warmest congratulations to Mrs. Aileen Kars and her family. We wish you good health and happiness.
