In 2014, at the age of 109, Hodges traveled to Madison, Wisconsin, to watch her great-grandson march in the Bob Jones Marching Band. Her hobbies included playing bridge and line dancing.

Hodges passed away at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin, Illinois, USA, at 6 AM on 23 April 2016, at the age of 111 years, 11 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Illinois, behind Mildred Salk. She was survived by her daughter, four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Veronica Forstner of the United States at age 110. She was born in Sigel Township, Brown County, Minnesota, on 3 May 1905. She was a sister, a wife, and a mother to 6 children.

Despite facing surgeries for kidney stones, a hysterectomy, and even her gallbladder and cataracts, Forstner lived to 110. She stayed active, enjoying the newspaper, Minnesota Twins games, and church services. Though her hearing declined, she resisted hearing aids. As for her longevity secret, she simply said, “I just live,” though another interview mentioned plenty of sleep as a factor.

On 18 June 2015, she became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Minnesota following the death of 110-year-old Hermina Wahlin.

Veronica Forstner passed away in New Ulm, Minnesota, USA, on 29 September 2015, at the age of 110 years, 149 days. She was survived by five of her children, 39 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 35 great-great-grandchildren. Upon her passing, she was succeeded as Minnesota’s oldest living person by Lena Dick.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Erva Lynch of the United States at age 110. She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, USA, on 8 June 1905. She lost her mother in infancy and bounced between various homes, including farms and family friends. After her father remarried, she spent her teenage years in Saugus. She even delivered medicine during the flu pandemic.

After graduating high school, she studied business before entering the workforce as a phone operator. Later on, she served doctors and lawyers in an answering service. In 1935, she married a World War I veteran and raised three children, while also having a stint at a department store.

At 72, Lynch moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, later relocating to Florida. She received letters from presidents and popes, knitted for soldiers, and exercised daily, even at 100. A heart procedure at 106 was her first major medical event. Celebrated on the “Today” show and by Massachusetts officials, her 110th birthday was a testament to her clean living, positive attitude, and sharp vision.

Lynch passed away of congestive heart failure in Summerfield, Florida, USA, on 12 July 2015, at the age of 110 years, 34 days. She was survived by her daughter and son-in-law, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation of Katherine Gomery of the United States at age 111. She was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on 24 February 1905. At some point, she relocated to Germany before returning to America in her 20s. She was a sister, a wife, and a mother to 2 sons.

Gomery retired in the late 1960s and relocated to Seattle in the early 1970s, settling at Wesley Terrace in Des Moines. In 1996, she moved to Brooklyn in the North River area and later resided in Aberdeen with her son.

Gomery passed away at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam, Washington, USA, on 27 December 2015, at the age of 110 years, 306 days. She was survived by her son Victor, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in the U.S. state of Washington. Following her passing, she was succeeded by Molly Schmidt.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Clarina Hudon of the United States at age 111. She was born in Carleton-sur-Mer, Quebec, Canada, on 4 March 1905. Growing up in her hometown, Hudon left for Montreal at age 17 in 1922, preparing for a move to New Hampshire. With her brother Edmond, she underwent medical procedures in 1923 to facilitate their entry to the U.S. By February 1924, they had crossed the border at St-Albans and settled in Nashua, joining their aunt and later several other siblings.

Married in 1929, Hudon raised a daughter and lived primarily in Nashua. In later years, she moved to Merrimack with her daughter and son-in-law before finding her final home at St. Teresa Nursing Facility in 2014.

Hudon passed away in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA, on 7 April 2016, at the age of 111 years, 34 days. She was survived by her daughter, two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. At the time of death, she was the oldest living person in the U.S. state of New Hampshire.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Bessie Porter of the United States at age 110. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, United States on 31 January 1905, as one of eight children to her parents. At the age of 18, she moved to Michigan.

Married and running a thriving moving business, Porter and her husband built a life of comfort and generosity in their historic Detroit home. They shared their success with family, supported their church, and traveled the world, with a soft spot for Paris. Even in her nursing home, Porter stayed connected to her Detroit roots, cherishing church visits and a 110th birthday bash with loved ones.

Mrs. Porter passed away in Detroit, Michigan, USA, on 25 July 2015, at the age of 110 years, 175 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Michigan, behind Emma Didlake.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Laura Gibson at 110 years old. She was an American supercentenarian born on 17 January 1905 in Seneca Township, Monroe County, Ohio. 

At a young age, she was married to James Chancy Carpenter and the couple had three children together. The family moved to Quaker City in 1940 where she worked at the local cigar factory and the Quaker City Post Office.

When she was 50 years old, she founded Adler-Weiner Research in her den which is a market research firm. She retired at the age of 89 and the firm continued to progress with four locations in Illinois and California.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Ellen Boenig of the United States at age 111. She was born in Oakville, Live Oak County, Texas, United States on 21 October 1905. Orphaned at birth, Boenig grew up in Blanconia with her aunt and uncle. They didn’t own a car until she was 13 when she claimed her father’s Ford Model-T. At 14, Boenig proudly claimed to be the first woman in Woodsboro to drive a pickup truck.

Boenig got married in 1922 and raised 6 children as a homemaker and gardener. In 1941, they moved to Beeville. A dedicated member of Trinity Christian Church, she visited all US states except Rhode Island, playfully claiming “it was too small to find.” Legally blind from glaucoma in her 90s, she maintained an adventurous spirit.

Boenig passed away in Beeville, Texas, USA, on 16 April 2017, at the age of 111 years, 177 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest (known) living person in the U.S. state of Texas, behind Hazel Gates. She was survived by three of her children, as well as 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Armida Sholar of the United States at age 111. She was born in Sumter, South Carolina, United States on 9 August 1905. Sholar worked as a desk clerk at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. Sholar was a member of Starmount Presbyterian and Westminster Presbyterian Churches. She moved to the White Stone independent apartments in 1978, where she volunteered to tend to the rose and flower gardens. Sholar was a sister, a wife, and a mother to 4 children.

Following a hip fracture, Sholar spent 17 years in the Care Center. One of her hobbies was playing bingo, and she rarely missed playing three times each week. She had cancer twice. She smoked until the age of 103, only deciding to quit after a fall resulted in a broken hip. Despite this, Sholar occasionally indulged in smoking until 2013 when her retirement community implemented a smoking ban on the premises. At the age of 109, she had trouble hearing and seeing, but she was still lucid. On 19 November 2016, following the death of 111-year-old Ruby Clodfelter, she became the oldest known living resident of North Carolina.

Sholar passed away in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, on 4 April 2017, at the age of 111 years, 238 days. Following her death, Hester Ford (who was only six days younger) succeeded her as North Carolina’s oldest living resident. She was survived by her son Bill, 12 grandchildren, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
