She firstly married to José Fagundes Sobrinho, a businessman, with whom she had two children: Jair (1953 – 7 May 2000) and Janice Aparecida (b. 1955). After being widowed, she married João Alves Chaves, a military man, and had a daughter: Janete (b. 1959).
