Juan Cobo Sánchez, a resident of Irun, Basque Country, Spain, is celebrating his 110th birthday today, according to Ayuntamiento de Jerte and Cristina Laborda Albolea, the Mayor of Irun.
Juan Cobo Sánchez was born in Jerte, Cáceres, Spain, on 27 July 1915.
At the moment, he is the fifth-oldest living man in Spain, after Luis Carrasco-Muñoz y Pérez de la Isla, Servando Palacin Bernal, Jesús Redondo Bermejo, and Engraciano González Barroso. It is believed that this is the first time in history that Spain has had five living male supercentenarians. Until recently, the highest known number was likely three living male supercentenarians at the same time. Earlier this month, that number rose to four. Except for the oldest among them, the other four have turned 110 within the past three months, since May.
He is also the second-oldest living resident of Basque Country, after Ignacia Miranda Mata.
LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Juan Cobo Sánchez on his 110th birthday.
