Jesús Redondo Bermejo is a Spanish supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. He is currently the nation’s oldest living man.
BIOGRAPHY
Jesús Redondo Bermejo was born in Cañaveral, Cáceres Province, Extremadura, Spain, on 2 June 1915. At the age of 19, he passed a competitive civil service examination and joined his village’s town hall. He served as Town Clerk for seven years in Portaje and later in Pontezuelo. During his military service he could type at a speed of 350 keystrokes per minute. He retired in 1976.
He married Concepción in 1942, and the couple had three children. They were married for 78 years, until her passing around 2020, at the age of 99.
At the age of 108, he still had the ability to read and watch TV perfectly without glasses. During that time, he lived between his hometown and the assisted living facility in Cáceres. At the time, he had 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
As of his 111th birthday, his mental faculties remained intact, according to Dr. Manuel de la Peña. His blood pressure and cholesterol levels were perfectly controlled, and his heart maintained a normal sinus rhythm, meaning he had no irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias. He reportedly led a healthy lifestyle throughout his life, never smoking or drinking alcohol. To stay active, he followed a daily routine that included gym exercises and occupational therapy.
RECOGNITION
On 2 June 2023, on his 108th birthday, he was visited by the LongeviQuest representative for Spain, Mr. Daniel Germán Delgado.
His age was verified by Daniel Germán Delgado and Fabrizio Villatoro, and validated by LongeviQuest on 26 January 2024.
On 29 October 2025, following the passing of Luis Carrasco-Muñoz y Pérez de la Isla, he became the oldest living man in Spain.
