Maria Mochi, the oldest living resident of Italy’s Marche region, passed away on September 7th, at the age of 110 years, 250 days. Her passing was first reported by Corriere Adriatico.
Mochi was born in Colmurano, Italy on 1 January 1914. She worked as a kindergarten cook. At some point, she donated her home to the local government for use as a school building. She resided in a nursing home in Urbisaglia since the age of 106. In late 2020, she became one of the oldest documented survivors of COVID-19, overcoming the illness by December 13th.
On 17 November 2023, following the passing of 113-year-old Domenica Ercolani, she became the oldest known living person in Marche.
