Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan – Around 6:30 a.m. on 18 April 2024, Mrs. Mineyo Miyai, the oldest living resident of Wakayama Prefecture, passed away at the age of 111 years, 273 days.
Mineyo Miyai was born in Japan on 20 July 1912.
On her 110th birthday in July 2022.

On 9 June 2022, following the passing of Ei Nakano, she became the oldest living person in the Prefecture. She received a congratulatory letter and a gift from the prefectural governor in celebration of her longevity.
