New Validation: Fumiko Fukui (1910-2021) of Japan

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Fumiko Fukui at 111 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian recognized as the oldest living person in Wakayama Prefecture at the time of her death.  

Fumiko Fukui was born in Japan on 29 March 1910. The days of her youth were characterized as a pharmaceutical company employee who enjoyed composing haiku and painting as the company’s club activities. She also included knitting as her longtime hobby.

In the latter part of her life, she began utilizing daycare services between the ages of 99 and 104. She also took up origami and paper covering where her works earned recognition and awards in local art exhibitions.  

Fumiko Fukui passed away on her 111th birthday last 29 March 2021 in Fujita, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, due to natural causes.
