It is with great pleasure for LongeviQuest to share that Costa Rica’s oldest man, Bernabé Córdoba, turns 109 years old.

Bernabé Córdoba was born on 11 June 1915 in Bagaces, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Growing up on a farm, he assisted his family in growing sugar cane, which he would grind in their sugar press.

At some point in his life, he married Ofelia Villegas Vargas with whom he had two daughters with.

He moved to Salitral, Santa Ana, San José with his family at the age of 61. He still resides in that place up until now.

Following the death of 110-year-old Juan Gabriel Hernández Matamoros on 20 January 2024, he became the oldest documented and undisputed living man in Costa Rica.
