LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Yoshi Tanaka at 111 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian known as the second-oldest living person in Yamaguchi Prefecture. 

Yoshi was born on 17 April 1900 in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. She reportedly recalled that she was able to hear the sound of the Russian Fleet’s cannons as they fire off the shore of Hagi.

When she was 20 years old, she got married and had four daughters with her husband. Unfortunately, her spouse passed away when she was only 77 years old. That is why she lived independently for 27 years before moving into a nursing home when she was 104 years old. 

Mrs. Tanaka passed away on 12 July 2011 in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Izabel Emiliana de Oliveira at 112 years old. She was a Brazilian supercentenarian who was the oldest documented person who died in Rio Grande do Norte.

Izabel Emiliana de Oliveira was born on 26 August 1900 in Parelhas, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Her father Felix Gomes was one of the founders of the city of Parelhas where she worked as a farmer.

Izabel de Oliveira had nine children three of whom died in infancy. When she was celebrating her 110th birthday, she lived with three of her children in Varzea do Barro community, Parelhas.

Izabel Emiliana de Oliveira passed away on 4 May 2013 in Parelhas, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. She was 112 years and 251 days old at the time of her death.

LongeviQuest is glad to report the addition of Carmelina Augusta Delgado to our ever-growing directory of supercentenarians.. She was the oldest living Portuguese supercentenarian in her country at the time of death. Her age was recently validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).

Delgado was born in the parish of Cabeça de Igreja (later annexed to the parish of Tuizelo), Municipality of Vinhais, Bragança, Portugal, on 8 November 1900. She left Bragança to live with her godmother, “Dona Inacinha” when she was 10 years old.

Carmelina left her godmother when she was 23 years old to marry a policeman named Manuel António Gonçalves. Because of his husband’s field of work, they are always moving places as she was accompanying Manuel wherever he was deployed. The couple had two daughters together where one learned to work as a seamstress and the other went to study for school.

Carmelina Delgado passed away in Vimioso, Bragança, Portugal, on 19 May 2013.

LongeviQuest is happy to announce the validation of Ken Ishikawa’s age claim at 112 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian born on 22 February 1900, and the oldest-living person in Aichi Prefecture, Japan at the time of her passing.

The mayor of Toyota, Aichi Prefecture visited Ishikawa’s home in September 2003 and applauded her longevity when she was 103 years old.
