Kano Ebara

Kano Ebara (Japanese: 江原加野) was a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture upon her death. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and recognised by LongeviQuest (LQ).

Biography

Ebara was born in Japan on 30 March 1907. She was married and had two children.

As a centenarian, Ebara lived independently and took care of herself, attending the day centre for the elderly next to her home twice a week. Following the 15 August 2018 death of Harue Kunitomi, she became the oldest resident of Okayama Prefecture.

Ebara died in Satosho Town, Okayama, on 14 June 2020 at the age of 113 years, 76 days. She was succeeded as the prefecture’s oldest living person by Chiyo Jikihara, then aged 110.
