Tatsuno Iota (五百田たつの) was born in Iga City, Mie Prefecture, Japan, on January 2, 1897.
At the age of 106, she moved to Tenri City, Nara Prefecture, and entered a nursing home.
In September 2007, she was honored by the governor as the oldest living person in the prefecture.
She passed away from natural causes at a hospital in Tenri City, Nara Prefecture, on March 3, 2008, at the age of 111 years and 61 days.
Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 19 September 2007 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
