Hedy Wegier

BIOGRAPHY

Hedy Wegier was born in Bytom, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland (then Germany), on 25 October 1903. In 1940, she left Germany with her husband, Maurice.

Hedy Wegier passed away in New York City, on 12 May 2015, at the age of 111 years, 199 days. She was survived by her daughter, Marcelle, her grandchildren, Joanna and Edward, and her nine great-grandchildren.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 14 April 2022.
