Emilia Zucchetti was an Italian supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and recognised by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Emilia Zucchetti was born in Torri del Benaco, Veneto, Italy, on 28 August 1903.

In her later years, she continued to nurture her love of travel, exploring Europe from Tenerife to Munich to Lourdes. For her 104th birthday, an acquaintance surprised her with a helicopter ride over Lake Garda—a gift she repeated on her 105th and 106th birthdays. At the age of 110, she reflected with characteristic wit: “I’ve never been married; perhaps that’s why I’ve come this far—or maybe heaven just hasn’t had a place for me yet.”

Emilia Zucchetti passed away in Brescia, Lombardy, on 26 April 2016, at the age of 112 years, 242 days.

RECOGNITION

Following the passing of Maria Redaelli on 2 April 2013, she became the oldest known living person in Lombardy. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Anna Maria Rosati.

Zucchetti’s age was verified by Paolo Scarabaggio and validated by the GRG on 9 October 2014.
