Allea Lermer Chittó was born in Linha Boa Vista, Muçum, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on 27 February 1917, to parents Nicolau Lermer (1886–1956) and Ema Bruschi (1892–1974). At the time, Muçum was called General Osório, and was a district of Guaporé. She had two older siblings, Catarina and Alécio, and six younger siblings: Guilherme, Jacó, Clementina, Maria, Delmina, and Ana. At the age of 12, her family moved to the municipality of São Valentim do Sul.
On 21 August 1940, she married João Chittó at São Valentim Church in São Valentim do Sul. The couple had nine children: Maria, Ivo, Sadi, José, Henrique, Catarina, Francisco, Ires, and Ana. Over the years, their family grew to include 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren (as of 2025).
In 1951, Allea and João settled in the São José community of Erval Grande, where they lived for over 60 years. Allea and her husband strongly valued family, considering it the most precious aspect of life. They believed that families are built gradually through dialogue, patience, love, care, forgiveness, and justice. Despite facing hardships, they credited their faith in God for helping them overcome difficulties.
On their 75th wedding anniversary in 2015, they emphasized that strong families must uphold traditional values and that true happiness comes from having a loving and united family. Her husband passed away on 3 January 2016, at the age of 104.
She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and drinking chimarrão, wine, and dark beer (malzbier). She loved dancing and had a passion for planting fruit trees. Even in her centenarian years, she continued to practice horticulture.
Her age was verified by Iara Souza, Gabriel Ainsworth and Fabrizio Villatoro, and validated by LongeviQuest on 17 March 2025.
(We sincerely thank her family for sharing her photos and biography with us.)
