Biography

Blanche Masson was born on 9 January 1914 in Houdain-lez-Bavay, Hauts-de-France, France.

In 1937, she met Louis, at the Ducasse in Hon-Hergies. Blanche and Louis got married a year later on 16 April 1938 and the couple had their first son during the same year. However, her husband left the family in 1940 to serve in World War II. After the war, the family settled in Hon-Hergies until Louis retired from his fitter career.

Masson frequently invited her family and friends to share coffee until she reached 103 years old. She could still cook and take care of herself at this point.

On her 110th birthday, it was mentioned by the nursing home facilitator that Masson’s secret to longevity was laughter.
