Auretta Franceschi, a resident of Viareggio, Tuscany, Italy, passed away on 3 April, at the age of 110 years, 245 days, according to Supercentenari d’Italia.

Auretta Franceschi was born in Lucca, Tuscany, on 1 August 1915.

She worked as a midwife. After graduating in Pisa in 1942, she traveled to Zagreb (in present-day Croatia) to work as a refugee in what was then Yugoslavia. Ten years later, after obtaining her condotta (license to practice), she returned to Tuscany, where she remained until 1980. That year, having purchased a house on the same main street where she had spent her childhood, she chose to return to Viareggio.

At the time of her passing, she was the third-oldest living person in Tuscany, after Nella Faleri and Gentilina Raccosta.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Auretta Franceschi during this difficult time.
