Maria José de Vasconcelos, a resident of Cruz, Ceará, Brazil, celebrated her 110th birthday on 27 August.
Maria José de Vasconcelos was born in Aranaú, Acaraú, Ceará, Brazil, on 27 August 1915, to parents José Júlio de Vasconcelos and Rita de Cássia De Vasconcelos. From a young age, she helped her father with farming and fishing, and despite many challenges, she was always devoted to her home, assisting her parents in raising her siblings. Growing up with limited schooling due to the difficult circumstances of the time, she nevertheless learned the core values of family from her parents.
At a very young age, she met João Geraldo Filho, and they soon married. From this union, 18 children were born. In her later years, even though she could no longer attend church, she remained devoted to her faith, praying the rosary every day.
LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Maria José de Vasconcelos on her 110th birthday. Special thanks to researchers Iara Souza and Gabriel Ainsworth for reaching out to Maria’s family and obtaining the most recent photos, and heartfelt gratitude to the family for generously sharing them.
