Cerami was born in Petralia Sottana on 20 November 1914. She had at least one daughter. At the age of 100, a photo of her shoveling snow in front of her house went viral, and by the time she turned 106, she was still attending church on her own.
According to the Supercentenari d’Italia website, she is currently the fourth-oldest living person in Sicily.
