Edith Bruckner was a validated American supercentenarian born on 18 June 1881 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.
In 1911, she married William Tretzel Bruckner, and the couple had two children together.
Sometime in the 1920s or 1930s, during the Great Depression, she learned about a child who had been jailed for stealing a bicycle. Moved by the situation, she took action to help the child. Following this, she founded an organization in the 1930s, which later became Family Service DuPage in Wheaton.
Edith Bruckner passed away on 18 February 1993 in Hinsdale, Illinois, United States, at 111 years old.
