Isabel Barletta, the oldest (documented) living person in Argentina, celebrates her 113th birthday today in Flores, Buenos Aires.

Isabel Barletta was born in a house on Primera Junta Street in Flores, Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 12 September 1911. The family later moved to a house her father and brothers had built on José Martí Street. Her father was an Italian immigrant. She attended elementary school on Francisco Bilbao Street. Later, she studied drawing, painting and Art History at the Fernando Fader school.

Her younger sister, Deolinda, was alive in January 2020, aged 104. When asked about the secret of her longevity, she replied: “There is only one and it is to respect the other. Because they are just like me, just like everyone else. God made them all equal…”

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Isabel Barletta on her 113th birthday.
