Carme Noguera Falguera of Vic, Barcelona Province, Spain, celebrated her 110th birthday on August 22nd. Her birthday was first reported on X by Ajuntament de Vic.

As per tradition, she received a bouquet from the town hall and a congratulatory letter from the mayor of Vic. Before, when asked about the secret to her longevity, she said, “There isn’t one. I just live according to my age, stay healthy, and surround myself with people who love me. I don’t think about living longer or shorter.”

She relocated to Vic in 1951 and stayed there up until now. She mentioned: “I started to like Vic, thanks to the personal connections I was able to make there”.

Born in Olot, Girona, Catalonia, Spain, on 22 August 1914.

At 19 years old, she enrolled in the School of Nursing of the Generalitat. Carme spent two years in an internship at the hospital clinic. During World War II, she spent her time treating tuberculosis patients at the clinic. After that, she returned to Olot and dedicated herself to taking care of the sick and midwives. She had three children and eventually relocated to Vic. By that time, she stopped practicing because the clinic in Vic did not accept married women as nurses, and her husband did not want her to work anymore.

LongeviQuest sends our congratulations in celebration of Carme Noguera Falguera’s 110th birthday. Her longevity and life story is an inspiration for all of us.
