It is with a heavy heart that LongeviQuest reports Catherina van der Linden’s demise at 111. She was an Australian supercentenarian known as the oldest living person in the country at the time of her death. 

Catherina van der Linden was born on 26 August 1912 in Amersfoort, Utrecht, Netherlands. 

Before turning 28 years old, she married Johannes (John) Wouterus van der Linden with whom she had four children with.

Catherina and her husband emigrated to Australia in 1955 but returned to the Netherlands in 1958 due to cultural differences. However, 18 months later, the family returned to Australia and permanently settled in Adelaide. 

Catherina passed away on 26 January 2024 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.
