LongeviQuest is delighted to share that Maria da Conceição Brito, the current oldest living person in Portugal, turns 111 years old. She is a Portuguese supercentenarian known as the oldest living person in the country.
The festive celebration of her 111 years of longevity was celebrated after the municipality of São Brás de Alportel visited her elderly home known as Santa Casa da Misericórdia. They celebrated her longevity as the elderly institution remembered her inspiring and memorable life journey filled with companionship and friendship.
Maria da Conceição Brito was born on 22 December 1912 in the town of São Romão. She witnessed the birth of the municipality of São Brás de Alportel. She also survived the long period of dictatorship and colonial war. Moreover, she also observed the birth of Portuguese democracy and the country’s integration with the European Union.
