LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Shige Kobayashi at 111 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian considered as the oldest living person in Gunma Prefecture at the time of her death.

Kobayashi was born on 30 August 1910 in Kurohone (which is now part of Kiryū, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. She had a husband and the couple had three sons and five daughters together.

Mrs. Kobayashi was talented at sewing so she ran a clothing store that offers a wide variety of choices from Japanese clothes to futons. She managed this store until she reached the age of 70 years old.

Shige Kobayashi passed away on 24 July 2022, in Kiryū, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 111 years old.
