French Supercentenarian Hélène Malfuson Dies at 112

Hélène Malfuson, a resident of Marseille, France, passed away on 4 October, at the age of 112 years, 97 days.

Malfuson was born Hélène Atger in Grombalia, Nabeul, French Tunisia (now Tunisia) on 29 June 1914. At some point in her life, she moved to France.

On 24 October 2024, at the age of 110 years, 117 days, she surpassed the final age of Vita Italia Diliberto, becoming the oldest known Tunisian-born person ever. On 3 April 2026, following the death of Samuèle Goustille, she became the oldest living person in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Alice Bischoff.
