LongeviQuest is delighted to announce that Finland’s oldest living person turned 110 years old in Mänttä. Her 110th-year milestone was celebrated by her friends and family. Helvi Kissala was born in Mänttä, Pirkanmaa, Finland on 26 October 1913.

Helvi Kissala, also known as “Grandma Kissa” by her loved ones, has had a remarkable life. She has lived through both world wars and civil wars, as well as the Great Depression. Kissala had multiple jobs throughout her life, including working as a cleaner at a paper factory, a cattle rancher, and a housewife.
She became the oldest known living person in Finland, following the death of 110-year-old Sirkka Nieminen on 13 January 2023.
Helvi Kissala currently lives in Mänttä-Vilppula, Pirkanmaa, Finland. She is also the last surviving person in Finland born in 1913.
