Margaret Devlin passed away on 20 August 2020 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was 110 years and 41 days old at the time of her death. She was survived by her five children, 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation of Hideko Sōgawa at age 111. She was a Japanese supercentenarian considered as the oldest living person in Kōchi Prefecture at the time of her death.
Hideko Sōgawa was born on 5 February 1909 in Gobō, Wakayama Prefecture. At some point in her life, she got married and had two sons and three daughters.
She was a home economics teacher at a prefectural high school while raising her children. Hideko retired when she was 60 years old.

At age 96 sometime in 2005, she moved to where her daughter lived in Kōchi City. Until she was around the age of 109, Hideko would walk about 300 meters away from her home to a meeting place on a hill. This is where she would participate in a 40-minute “A lively 100-year-old gymnastics” for strength training for the elderly. She does this exercise once a week while also walking around her house with her daughter. It was also reported that Hideko would sometimes leave her can at the meetinghouse knowing that she could walk home just as well without it.
Hideko Sōgawa passed away on 6 June 2020 in Kōchi, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan, when she was at the age of 111 years, 122 days.

LongeviQuest is delighted to announce the age validation of Namie Takaki at 111 years old. She was a Japanese supercentenarian known as the second-oldest living person in Kumamoto Prefecture.
Namie Takaki was born on 11 October 1908 in Tamana, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. She heard from her parents that because she was so frail at birth, they thought she would not survive. She was only 100 cm at the age of 7 years old.
Her family moved to Taiwan in 1917 when it was still occupied by Japan because of her father’s job as a police officer. She got her teaching degree in Taiwan where she worked as an elementary school teacher in Taichung. Mrs. Takaki taught Japanese to about 1,000 first and second-graders at that time.
She decided to quit her job after being married to a police officer and had their first daughter. Her husband was arrested as a war criminal after World War II. Since then, Namie and her daughter moved from one evacuation center to another until they returned to Japan in 1946.

When her husband passed away in 1976, Namie tried to connect with her former students in Taiwan. However, their communications were shut due to the 1999 Taiwan earthquake. She reconnects again through a letter that she wrote when she was 107. This time, the Taiwanese media picked up their stories and shared their reunion which became a hot topic in Taiwan.
The Taiwanese Consulate General and Taipei Economic and Cultural Affairs Office appreciate Namie’s friendships with her past students which created a bond of friendship between Japan and Taiwan.
Namie Takaki passed away on 28 February 2020 in Tamana, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 111 years and 140 days.

Alma Leuthner was born on 19 May 1910 in Long Prairie, Minnesota, USA. She studied music along with her three sisters from the local nuns, where Alma learned to play the piano and the violin. She graduated from Long Prairie High School and then attended St. Cloud College of Business in the late 1920s.

When she was 98 years old, she stopped driving and then moved into a nursing home.
Alma Leuthner passed away on 9 October 2020 at Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, Minnesota, USA. She was 110 years old at the time of her death and the third-oldest living person in Minnesota after Erna Zahn and Opal Johnson.

At some point in her life, she married a lawyer. Moreover, she lived in Manchuria during World War II.
She used to ride a roller coaster even after turning 80 years old. Even at the age of 100, she was still able to travel from Fukuoka to Tokyo by plane to attend her grandson’s wedding.
Mrs. Shimada liked to talk with her grandchildren about wars and historical events. She also mentioned that her teenage years were the happies time of her life.
She was recognized as the eight-oldest living person in Fukuoka Prefecture in September 2019.
Kikue Shimada passed away on 19 March 2020 in Minami-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. She was 111 years old at the time of her death.

On 21 June 2019, Yasuda became the oldest living person in Tottori Prefecture at 110, following the death of 111-year-old Toshiko Hayashibara of Daisen.
On 13 February 2020, at the age of 111 years, 104 days, she surpassed the age of Yoshi Terai. Thus becoming the oldest person ever in Tottori. She held the title until November 2020, when her age was surpassed by Natsuko Sakai.
