LongeviQuest is pleased to confirm the age validation of Emma Isbell at 110 years old. She was an American supercentenarian born on Bennett farm near Lebanon in Madison County, New York, USA, on 26 October 1859.

She claimed to be born in 1860 but research conducted by Jimmy Lindberg stated that she was actually born in 1859. LongeviQuest validated the claim and at the time of her passing, she was the oldest (known and validated) living person in the United States.

She spent her life teaching and spending time with children in rural schools and at Eaton Village School. Emma stated that staying with kids is the reason for her longevity.

After retirement, she became a librarian until 1920. Then she lived with her mother and sister right after in a farm in the Cherry Valley.

Isbell never married nor had children. She passed away in Morrisville County, New York, USA, on 12 December 1969.
