BIOGRAPHY

Pompanon was born as Odette Alexine Moutron in Champagne-sur-Seine, Seine-et-Marne, Île-de-France, on 19 November 1902. Prior to her marriage in 1925, she was employed in a haberdashery.

Pompanon and her husband moved to Paris and had three children. She retired to her hometown and lived at home with her daughters for the rest of her life.

Pompanon died on 21 August 2013 at the age of 110 years, 275 days. She was survived by her three children, as well as five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

RECOGNITION

Each of Pompanon’s birthdays from her 100th was attended by city mayor François Roger.

Upon her death, Pompanon was the second-oldest resident of the region of Île-de-France, after 111-year-old Marguerite Conrad (1902 – 2014).

Pompanon’s age was verified by Cyril Depoudent of Les Grands Centenaires Français, and was validated by the GRG and the ESO on 27 November 2014 and 2 February 2020 respectively.
