Marcelina Arauz was born in Ocú, Herrera, Panamá, on 1 June 1909. She married a man with the surname Maure. They had four children.
At the age of 111, she had nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and more than 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Arauz died in Los Llanos, Ocu District, Herrera, Panama, on 26 March 2022 at the age of 112 years, 299 days. Her death was due to COVID-19.
Her age was verified by Stefan Maglov and Fabrizio Villatoro, and validated by the LAS on 3 June 2020.
