Levy was born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA on 1 November 1910. She had one older brother.
In the 1930s, she moved to the State of New York, where she married Seymour Levy in April 1939. The couple had two children, Ralph and Lynn. Levy worked as a secretary for her husband’s business for much of her life. She continued to work there after his death in 1991, retiring when she was in her 90s.
When asked about the secret of her longevity, she cited a healthy diet, especially yogurt.
Levy resides at The Osborn, a senior living community in Rye, New York, where she has lived since 1996.
Following the death of 111-year-old Sadie Rosenkrantz on 11 August 2022, she became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of New York.
