Biography

Moritz was born on 15 August 1913. Her father was a city gardener in Aalborg who designed the city’s zoo and the Kildeparken public park.

Moritz married her husband, Sven, with whom she had three children. Her husband was a lawyer, public prosecutor, and former police chief. Together they represented Aalborg at many official events.

At the age of 100, Moritz decided to adopt a vegan lifestyle. However, the nursing home staff later determined that her diet required additional protein intake to sustain a healthy weight. As a result, she transitioned back to a diet that included meat.

Moritz’s granddaughter, Vibeke Hartkorn, is a Danish journalist and former studio host on TV Avisen.

Moritz passed away in Nørresundby, Aalborg, North Jutland Region, Denmark, on 4 April 2024, at the age of 110 years, 233 days.
