Ejra Grimstam was a Swedish supercentenarian, who was believed to be the third-oldest living person in the country at the time of her passing.

Biography

Ejra Grimstam was born in Sjötofta, Västra Götaland, Sweden, on 29 June 1912, and grew up on a farm. She married her husband Thure in 1945 and the family settled in Oskarström, outside Halmstad. They had two daughters, Maj-Britt and Siv.

When Grimstam’s husband died in 1992, she moved to the municipality of Ale to be closer to her daughter Siv. Around 2013, she moved to the Backavik Nursing Home in Nödinge.

On her 110th birthday in 2022, she had seven great-grandchildren. Her family attributed her longevity to her positive attitude, and her avoidance of drinking and smoking.

Grimstam passed away in Nödinge-Nol, Västra Götaland, Sweden, on 25 September 2023, at the age of 111 years
