Camilia Gonçalves, sometimes listed as Camila Gonçalves, was a Portuguese-born Brazilian supercentenarian. Her age has been validated in cooperation between LongeviQuest and the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).

BIOGRAPHY

Camilia Gonçalves was born in Portugal on 23 October 1911. At some point she got married and had children. The family eventually moved to Brazil.

In 1958, when her daughter Emília Gonçalves Araújo and son-in-law Adriano Araújo moved to Brazil, she decided to join them.

Camilia Gonçalves passed away in São Paulo City, São Paulo, Brazil, on 21 August 2023, at the age of 111 years, 302 days.

RECOGNITION

On 20 July 2022, following the death of 113-year-old Maria da Encarnação Nunes de Sousa, she became the oldest living Portuguese-born person.

Her age was verified by Gabriel Lemos (ESO correspondent), Stefan Maglov, Filipe Lopes and Esteban González Olase, and validated by LongeviQuest on 25 June 2023.
